Whenever Mark spies a potential Masters convert, he is quick to stop and engage with a friendly smile and lengthy verbal encouragement.  Through his efforts, the number in the The YsGuys group has rapidly grown, as have the many extracurricular activities (out of pool) activities.  When Mark is not working he is the principal caregiver of his wife, who has been severely challenged with a debilitating illness.  Despite their difficulties, you would never know this in his presence.  He is a dedicated husband and friend.  His kindness and friendly encouragement helped many to really enjoy masters swimming.
