Christie has served as the Chair for the Open Water Committee for Southern Pacific for three years.  She resurrected the Open Water Points competition, working to tally event results, purchase awards, and deliver awards to the swimmers. She has been working with open water events to ensure compliance with USMS rules, publicity to attract participants, and coordination of newsletter information.  Christie has also been working with venues to add additional open water events, with her work resulting in open water swims reaching record participation.
