As the long-time Treasurer of the Michigan LMSC, Ralph developed the first comprehensive budget for Masters in Michigan. He helped re-write the LMSC’s by-laws, served as Vice-Chair for two years, and then a term as Chair of the LMSC. At the national level, Ralph was the USMS Treasurer and served for many years on the Finance Committee. He attended the national convention for nearly two decades. After suffering a medical set back and a receiving a heart transplant, Ralph returned to swimming. Through this experience, he became a staunch supporter of Masters Swimming and has promoted the program all over Michigan through billboards featuring his story as well as many articles about his return to swimming. Ralph also participated in the Transplant Games.
