Cathy Hallman-Kenner, of Palmetto Masters of Charleston, SC, resolved issues when the team’s numerous practice locations each had their own rules, which often conflicted with other locations. She merged the workouts and organized the facilities to reciprocate. Meet participation increased as a result. Cathy also organized USMS coaches training, leading South Carolina to having certified coaches on deck. She continued to grow SC swimming by starting the annual Growler swim meet. Cathy’s energy and commitment was felt world-wide as she encouraged and supported fundraisers benefiting swimming in foreign countries where lessons were needed but not always available.
