U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Sue Jensen represented the Boston area of the New England LMSC (NE LMSC). Beginning in 2022, she served as the chair of the NE LMSC Championship Committee. She had previously chaired the NE LMSC Officials Committee, beginning in 2015. In these roles, Sue facilitated high-caliber championship meets and made sure officials annually received name tags and rule books. Most notably, Sue helped facilitate the 2022 NE LMSC SCM Championship meet and the 2023 NE LMSC SCY Championship meet. When the usual facility became unavailable, Sue took on the difficult job of finding a replacement pool for the SCY meet. Subsequently, the meet became NE LMSC’s largest since 2019, with 442 swimmers from 55 teams. Sue also became a USMS Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) Instructor in 2015, notably helping facilitate 27 students being able to take free swimming lessons. Additionally, Sue worked with a group of interested swimmers to establish a lunch time workout group at Harvard’s Blodgett Pool.
