U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award

Kim Elsbach, a member of the Pacific LMSC, served on the USMS Open Water Committee from 2019-2020, and as the Chair in 2020. In her LMSC she was a member of the Pacific’s Open Water Committee from 2020-2023. In 2022, Kim was race director for the annual Lake Berryessa swim, an event that had 493 swimmers. In 2021 she was certified as a USMS Adult Learn to Swim instructor and she soon became the chair for the Pacific LMSC’s ALTS committee. Kim’s activities as ALTS chair for Pacific have included organizing, recruiting, and running ALTS Instructor Certification courses. In 2023 fourteen ALTS instructors were certified. She also oversaw the ALTS students’ course fee scholarship award, which was funded by the Pacific LMSC. Both USMS and the Pacific LMSC have benefited greatly from Kim’s organizing and teaching skills, as well as her spirit of volunteerism!
