U.S. Masters Swimming Dorothy Donnelly Service Award
Recipient: | Bob Seltzer |
Year: | 2000 |
LMSC: | New England |
Bob was very active in the New England Masters Club during the 1990’s. He served as President from 1996-2000 and set a goal to double the membership; his slogan was “1000 by 2000”. With the intention of gaining members, Bob led the creation of two major events. The first was to encourage NEM members to participate in the 1997 1-Hour postal championship, which turned out to be an epic battle against the Davis Aquatic Masters from California. The other was the creation of the NEM Workout Group competition format. New England Masters grew well beyond the initial targets with his influence. Bob also served on the USMS Ad Hoc Computer Online committee.
