Mission Viejo Nadadores (MVN) was an “old team” steeped in tradition, legacy, and pride. Their love and a sense of family was felt the moment one entered the pool gates. The team supported service to the sport of swimming and service to the team and its athletes. 

Head Coach Mark Moore had a heart of gold, and his swimmers loved him. The coaching staff regularly attended coaching clinics: ASCA, SwimFest09, NorCal (Napa), and Western States (Orange County). MVN educated its members with frequent classes and clinics as well. In 2006 they held more than 12 clinics for all levels of swimmers. In 2007, MVN held 4 “Intro to Masters” clinics for new swimmers and in 2009, they developed the “also held 3 competitive clinics for swimmers attending World Championships.

The club saw an opportunity to build their membership by supporting a TriLaVie Women’s Triathlon Training Group. It focused on triathlon, open water, and women’s membership. The coaching staff supported athletes in the Orange County Triathlon and The InterBanc Tri Team.

MVN’s website, newsletter, and Facebook page enhanced communication with its members. Coach Moore and assistant coach, Ahelee Sue Osborn also had articles published in SWIM Magazine. Life was good, swimming with MVN, and their team pride and loyalty was reflected in their team motto, ‘Once a Nadadores, always a Nadadores’.

The club hosted the 2005 Nationals and families volunteered at 4 annual Masters meets, also hosted by the club. Hosting the meets helped the team financially. Moore served on the LSMC Board as President and Osborn also served on the Coaches Committee. MVN was a top 3 team at every SPMA Regional Championships.
