Club Registration Updates
What you need to know before registering or renewing your club or workout group
U.S. Masters Swimming is continuing to invest resources into growing clubs and the organization. We made some updates this year that will improve the coach section, club detail section, and location section. We have also removed the Gold Club section and added the club services bundle section.
2027 Club Registration Changes
Club Details
What is changing?
We have added new questions and moved questions from the Gold Club section into this section.
Why is it changing?
In order to offer better service to our clubs and potential members, we want to learn more about your insurance needs, membership requirements, and whether you want to participate in our bulk member registration Beta group.
We removed the Gold Club section as it was not servicing our clubs and members in the exact way we wanted it to. Many of those questions were moved into the club details section, and others were removed entirely.
How will it impact registration this year?
The new questions and Gold Club questions will be cleared out, and you will have to fill those out again.
Coach and Adult Learn-to-Swim instructors
What is changing?
Only active USMS members can be selected.
Why is it changing?
We want to ensure that coaches and ALTS instructors affiliated with our active clubs are active members. This section now only offers a dropdown with active USMS members, and there is no option to add a non-member. All active members will be in the dropdown, whether they are certified or not. This helps us understand if insurance requirements are getting met and lays a foundation for better connecting our coaches to clubs.
How will it impact registration this year?
All coaches and instructors have been removed from this section, and they will have to be searched for and selected in the active USMS membership dropdown.
Locations
What is changing?
Locations will be pulling from a central database.
Why is it changing?
Our club locations and event locations are now pulling from the same database. This eliminates duplicates and gives us a much better understanding of all the programming that is taking place at a single location.
You can still add a new location if yours is not in our database.
How will it impact registration this year?
If your location was not connected to one of the ones in our central locations database, it was cleared out and will have to be searched for and selected.
Gold Club/Club Services Bundles
What is changing?
The Gold Club section has been removed, and we have added club services bundles.
Why is it changing?
We removed the Gold Club section as it was not supporting our clubs and members in the exact way we wanted it to. Our club service bundles will provide our affiliate clubs (clubs that don't require USMS membership) with the option to buy benefits that member clubs received for free.
How will it impact registration this year?
All of the Gold Club questions will be removed from the registration process, and the Gold Club designation will also be removed on the Club Finder and club detail page. For affiliate clubs, you will be able to purchase a service bundle during initial registration and during club edit. Member clubs will receive the service bundles for free and will not need to do anything extra during registration.
